Stainless Steel 321H Sheets has good welding characteristics; and post-weld annealing is not normally required to restore its excellent performance in a wide range of corrosive conditions. Stainless Steel 321H Plates is used because they are not sensitive to intergranular corrosion after heating within the carbide precipitation range of 425-850°C.
Stainless Steel 321H Coils is then quench-annealed as rapidly as possible generally in clean water, but thin sections can be air cooled, this being necessary to suppress any re-formation of chromium carbide which would occur if the material was allowed to slow cool in the furnace etc. as with standard annealing procedures. Stainless Steel 321H Slating Coils is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel similar to Type 304 but with a titanium addition of at least five times the carbon content.
