How to Calculate the Weight of Structural Steel ISMC Channels?

To determine the weight of structural steel ISMC channels, follow this formula:

Weight Calculation Formula:

[ text{Weight (kg/m)} = (A – B) times C times D ]

Where:

  • A = Flange Width (in millimeters)
  • B = Flange Thickness (in millimeters)
  • C = Width of the Web (in millimeters)
  • D = Thickness of the Web (in millimeters)

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Measure the Flange Width (A):
    • The overall width of the flange from one edge to the other.
  2. Determine the Flange Thickness (B):
    • The thickness of the outer edges of the steel channel.
  3. Identify the Width of the Web (C):
    • The vertical section connecting the two flanges.
  4. Find the Thickness of the Web (D):
    • The thickness of the vertical section between the flanges.

Example Calculation:

Given:

  • Flange Width (A) = 100 mm
  • Flange Thickness (B) = 10 mm
  • Width of the Web (C) = 50 mm
  • Thickness of the Web (D) = 6 mm

Substitute these values into the formula:

[ text{Weight (kg/m)} = (100 text{ mm} – 10 text{ mm}) times 50 text{ mm} times 6 text{ mm} ]

[ text{Weight (kg/m)} = 90 text{ mm} times 50 text{ mm} times 6 text{ mm} ]

Final Calculation:

[ text{Weight (kg/m)} = 27000 text{ mm}^3 ]

To convert to kilograms per meter, factor in the density of steel (approx. 7.85 g/cm³) and convert units accordingly.

By following these steps, you can precisely compute the weight of any ISMC channel you’re working with, essential for accurate project planning and execution.

ISMB Weight Chart And ISMC Weight Chart.

ISMB Weight Chart

Understanding the unit weight of steel in civil engineering is critical when working with structural materials. Common terms used are ISMC and ISMB, with ISMC standing for “Indian Standard Medium Weight Channels” and ISMB for “Indian Standard Medium Weight Beams,” helping classify steel sections based on size and load-bearing capacities. calculate the unit weight in kg/m one can use this formula: (Steel weight per meter x Length of bar in meters / weight per kg per meter )/(Steel weight per Meter * Length of Steel Bar in meters) = (Steel weight per Meter * Length of Bar in meters) * 1.58 =0.395 kg/m. For instance if we had a 32 mm steel bar of 12 meters length that weighted 1.58 kg per meter its unit weight would equal to 0.395% kg/m.

ISMB beams play an essential part in building sturdy frameworks for buildings and bridges. An ISMB 350 beam, known for its robustness and load-bearing capacity, may vary in its unit weight depending on its dimensions and length; using the steel bars formula, one 12m long ISMB 350 beam has been calculated at 0.617 kg/m using steel bars formula calculations; this information helps engineers and architects in determining overall weight distribution and structural stability for projects.

How to Calculate the Unit Weight of an ISMC 100 Channel

Calculating the unit weight of an ISMC 100 channel involves a straightforward formula based on volume and density. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Formula: [ text{Weight} = text{Volume} times text{Density} ]

Components:

  • Volume (V): The amount of space the ISMC 100 channel occupies.
  • Density (D): The mass per unit volume of the material used for the channel.

Step-by-Step Calculation:

  1. Determine the Volume: Measure or obtain the dimensions of the ISMC 100 channel. Use these dimensions to calculate the volume.
    • If you have the cross-sectional area (A) and the length (L) of the channel, multiply them: [ V = A times L ]
  2. Find the Density: Look up the material density. Steel, for example, typically has a density of approximately 7.85 g/cm³ or 7850 kg/m³.
  3. Multiply Volume by Density: Use the values obtained for volume and density in the formula. [ text{Weight} = V times D ]

Example Calculation:

  1. Assume Dimensions:
    • Cross-sectional area (A) = 20 cm²
    • Length (L) = 100 cm
  2. Calculate Volume: [ V = A times L = 20 , text{cm}² times 100 , text{cm} = 2000 , text{cm}³ ]
  3. Use Density of Steel: [ D = 7.85 , text{g/cm}³ ]
  4. Compute Weight: [ text{Weight} = 2000 , text{cm}³ times 7.85 , text{g/cm}³ = 15700 , text{g} = 15.7 , text{kg} ]

By following these steps, you can accurately determine the unit weight of an ISMC 100 channel based on its volume and the density of the material used.

Introduction to Indian Standard

The Indian Standard (IS) is a comprehensive set of guidelines developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to ensure the quality, safety, and reliability of products used across various industries in India. In the realm of steel construction, these standards are particularly significant for defining the properties and dimensions of steel sections such as Indian Standard Medium Weight Beams (ISMB) and Indian Standard Medium Weight Channels (ISMC). By adhering to the Indian Standard, manufacturers produce steel sections that meet strict criteria for strength, durability, and dimensional accuracy, which are essential for the structural integrity of buildings and infrastructure.

For engineers, architects, and construction professionals, understanding and utilizing steel sections that comply with the Indian Standard is crucial. It guarantees that ISMB beams and ISMC channels will perform as expected under load, fit seamlessly into standardized designs, and contribute to the overall safety of the project. The Indian Standard not only streamlines the selection process for steel sections but also ensures compatibility and interchangeability across different manufacturers and suppliers, making it a cornerstone of modern construction practices in India.

Flange Volume

Flange volume is a key factor in determining the overall weight and structural performance of mild steel channels, including ISMC and ISMB sections. The flange refers to the horizontal part of the channel, and its dimensions—specifically the flange width and flange thickness—directly impact the channel’s ability to bear loads and resist bending.

When calculating ms channel weight or c channel weight, the volume of the flange is combined with the web volume to arrive at the total sectional weight. A larger flange width or increased flange thickness results in a higher flange volume, which in turn increases the channel’s weight and its load-bearing capacity. This is particularly important in applications where channels are subjected to significant horizontal gravitational forces or need to support heavy loads.

Understanding flange volume is essential for engineers and designers, as it allows for precise weight calculations and ensures that the selected channel meets the structural requirements of the project. By referencing detailed weight charts and considering flange dimensions, professionals can optimize their material choices for both performance and cost-effectiveness.

Screwed Type Qrc is also widely used in many industries however care needs to be taken with regards to the fluid type and flow rate of the fluid. Ss 316 Quick Release Coupling is made up of high carbon grade of nickel and chromium when compared to its other version the Ss 304 Qrc grade.

What Is Quick Release Coupling ?

The fitting design is simple and easy to install, example a male end inserts into a female end to make a secure and leak-tight sealing. They are being called as push-in connect because the connection requires a quick push only. The fitting is manufactured according to different standard including ISO 7241-A, ISO 7241-B, Gromelle 6000, Hansen W6000, Parker 60, which are subjected to different industry applications.

Couplings are designed to change the connections without the use of tools or special devices. Quick Release Coupling is one such coupling that eliminates the need to close valves or bleed the system. quick release coupling manufacturers in India manufacture these couplings for various industries as they are high in demand due to their resistance to general corrosion. Quick Release Hose Couplings For Water offer leak-free performance with lightweight construction. quick release coupling for air has a pressure rating of 200 psi. Quick Release Connectors have a quick disconnect facility. Quick Release Hose Connectors are used to connect fluid lines to equipment that requires repeat connections and disconnections.

How does a quick connect fitting work?

ISO 7241-A standard is versatile for use in hydraulic application for equipment maintenance or operation system. The fitting design is either a poppet valve or ball closing system. The poppet valve and a metal perch are used to maintain valve alignment and prevent flow duplication. Coupler sleeve and nipple body are hardened to be damage resistant and the standard end configurations include female pipe and straight thread of NPT or BSPP.

HYDRAULIC QUICK RELEASE COUPLING

ISO 7241-B or Parker 60 standard are poppet valves along with a metal to metal valve stop maintains valve alignment. It used to prevent flow duplication. The standard end configuration is female pipe thread of NPT or BSPP. It is generally for applications with lower life cycle and no severe cyclic pressure fluctuations, essentially applied in steady pressure during an operating cycle. The common applications include mine roof support system, hydraulic jacks and high pressure fluid transfer.

Screw end Gromelle W6000 or 203 Series TGW quick coupling is used to connect pipes under high pressure inline systems and high impulse hydraulic applications where fluid lines require fast and easy connection. Screw locking mechanism such as the 203 Series TGW provides exceptional resistance to severe hydraulic loads. This quick coupling is designed for severe conditions where hydraulic shocks, system vibrations or hose bending are possible.

Stainless Steel 316L Pipe Manufacturers In India

Sachiya Steel International is one of the Leading Manufacturer And Exporter Of Stainless Steel 316L Pipes In India. supplying stainless steel 316L pipes as well as stainless steel 316L fittings and stainless steel 316L flanges. Given our extensive expertise and knowledge in stainless steel industry we can offer stainless steel 316L pipes, at the most competitive prices in the Industry. Sachiya Steel International Is One Of The Leading wholesaler for Stainless Steel 316L Pipes, stainless, acid and heat-resistant steel pipes, fittings and flanges with extensive stocks.

Stainless Steel 316L Pipes

Stainless Steel 316L Pipes is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to SS 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels. The molybdenum gives Stainless Steel 316L Pipes better overall corrosion resistant properties than Stainless Steel 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. Stainless Steel 316L Pipes has excellent forming and welding characteristics. It is readily brake or roll formed into a variety of parts for applications in the industrial, architectural, and transportation fields.

Stainless Steel 316L Pipes also has outstanding welding characteristics. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections. Stainless Steel 316L Pipes, the low carbon version of SS 316 and is immune from sensitization (grain boundary carbide precipitation).Stainless Steel 316L Pipes, SS 316H, with its higher carbon content has application at elevated temperatures, same as SS 316Ti which is a Titanium stabilized grade .SS 316N is nitrogen enhanced with greater strength than SS 316.

Stainless Steel 316L Pipes is made up of an austenitic stainless steel that has chromium, nickel and molybdenum in its composition with low carbon content than the 316 grade. The low carbon content of the pipes makes it easier for welding applications. The Stainless Steel 316L Pipes is used in aqueous applications where chloride ion corrosion is high. The material has low corrosion rates in chloride ion rich environment because of the molybdenum content in it. There are welded, seamless and fabricated pipes.

316L alloy is a lower carbon version of the 316 alloy. The Stainless Steel 316L Pipes/ Tubes is composed of molybdenum, nickel, and chromium in its composition. The molybdenum content in this grade makes it highly corrosion-resistant and easy to weld. Designed with a minimum tensile strength of 458Mpa, the Stainless Steel 316L Pipes is widely used in many marine industries. These pipes show 40% elongation and possesses minimum yield strength of 170Mpa. The density of the Stainless Steel 316L Tube is 8000 kg/m3. These tubes show high resistance in chloride ion-rich environments along with aqueous conditions. The austenitic nature allows these tubes to function well at cryogenic temperatures. We are the leading supplier of Stainless Steel 316L Pipes/Tubes in the country. Our goal is to deliver the best products at reasonable rates to our customers.

The Stainless Steel 316L Pipes can range from ½ to 24 inches. Due to the presence of low carbon carbide precipitation is eliminated. These pipes can suffice well at temperatures of 800 degrees F. The SS 316L Welded Pipe is available in sizes ranging from 6 to 100 inches. These pipes are used in high-temperature and pressure systems depending on their grade and thickness. The 316L SS ERW Pipe is manufactured by welding a strip spirally or from end to end. These pipes exhibit roughness and are not accurate compared to seamless pipes. They can be easily machined due to the rough surface.

The Stainless Steel 316L Pipes Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe when annealed, can work well in temperatures up to 1950 degrees F. They can be subjected to a cold rolling process to give them desired properties. The WNR. 1.4404 Polished Pipe is a by-product of the cold-rolling process. This allows the pipe to have a smooth surface as well as increases its corrosion resistance. The SA 312 TP 316L material allows this grade to be used in heat exchangers, dyeing equipment, pipelines, construction material, etc. We are the Stockist who can customize all our products including, the SS grade 1.4404 Pipes in different shapes and sizes.

The 316L Stainless Steel Tubing can be forged in different shapes like square, rectangular, circular, etc. These tubes and pipes are very versatile and are very durable. The ASTM A312 TP 316L Round Pipe is widely used in general, industrial service requirements along with in different corrosive environments. For installation in difficult spaces and buildings the, ASME SA 312 Grade 316L Square Pipe is preferred. These pipes are widely used for construction, structural, and in various maintenance systems. Available in sizes of 10-600mm, the UNS S31603 Rectangular Pipe is designed with a thickness of 0.5mm-20mm.

The ASTM A312 Gr TP 316L have different schedules to accommodate different sizes and wall thickness. They can be easily grooved, machined, or threaded. The Stainless Steel 316L Pipes Schedule 10 Pipe is a low-pressure pipe. These pipes are available in ½ to 36 inches. Their outer diameter and wall thickness depend on the size of these pipes. If you have any queries or want to know about the 1.4404 SS 316L Seamless Pipe, contact us for more information.

Inconel Alloy 718 Sheets Stockist In India

Sachiya Steel International Is One Of The Leading Stockist And Exporter Of High Quality Inconel Alloy 718 Sheets, Plates and Coils to the customers, which is extensively demanded for its sturdiness and durability. Inconel 718 Sheets has advanced power than Inconel 718 Sheets, which further can be willingly age hardened and worked. Inconel 718 Strip Coils is a nickel-chromium and precipitation – harden able alloy comprising also noteworthy quantities of iron, molybdenum and niobium together by means of smaller amounts of titanium and aluminum. Inconel 718 Coils shows very high tensile, yield, and creep – rupture features at soaring temperatures.

Inconel Alloy 718 Sheets

Inconel 718 Plates (UNS N07718) has outstanding creep – rupture potency at temperatures till 1300 Deg F. To perform this function, Inconel 718 Slim Coils must first be solution heat treated (solution annealed is a synonymous term). However, this treatment in Alloy 718 Slating Coils has a tendency to produce notch brittleness in stress rupture. Meanwhile, these Inconel 718 Slating Coils are also being offered in different sizes and shapes to our customers.

Welding of Inconel 718 Perforated Coils in the aged condition will cause the formation of a softened heat – affected zone. Alloy 718 Plates is highly resistant to chloride and sulfide stress corrosion cracking. Typical applications of Alloy 718 Coils in the oil industry are gate valves, choke stems, fasteners, tubing hangers and fire safe valves. We also offer these Alloy 718 Perforated Coils market industry prices.

Nickel Alloy 200 Wire Manufacturers In India

Sachiya Steel International is One Of The Leading Manufacturer And Exporter Of High Quality Nickel Alloy 200 Wire, where chlorine additives would be an alternative. Nickel 200 Coil Wire is a Nickel based alloy containing 47.5 % Nickel, 22 % Chromium and 18.5 % Iron, with small amounts of Cobalt, Molybdenum and Tungsten. All hot – or cold – worked parts of Nickel 200 Wire should be annealed and rapidly cooled in order to restore the best balance of properties. Carbide tools in Nickel 200 Wire should have smaller angles than high – speed tools and operating speeds can be higher. After 100 hours in petroleum coke, Nickel 200 is completely penetrated by carburization; whereas its specimens showed no carburization at all.

Nickel Alloy 200 Wire

Useful Properties for Aircraft and Furnace Parts, Nickel 200 Wire is recommended especially for use in furnace applications. Alloy 200 Wire has unusual resistance to oxidizing, reducing, and neutral atmospheres, where work hardening occurs whenever a tool makes a cut. Its uncommon resistance to oxidation, combined with exceptional heat resistance and fabricability, make Alloy 200 a widely sought – after blend in a number of industries.

Thoroughly clean work piece after machining Alloy 200 Coil Wire, is to prevent surface contamination during subsequent heat treating. Because of the low thermal conductivity in Alloy 200 Wire, heat build – up is a problem, and therefore, correct coolant application is necessary.

Sachiya Steel International is One Of The Leading Manufacturer And Exporter Of High Quality Monel Alloy K500 Wire, which is a low alloy pressure vessel quality steel for high temperatures. Monel K500 Wire is primarily used in welded pressure vessels where improved toughness is required. Monel K500 Welding Wire is a metal alloy consisting mostly of iron, in addition to small amounts of carbon, depending on the grade and quality of the steel. Monel K500 Coil Wire is any type of steel to which one or more elements besides carbon have been intentionally added, to produce a desired physical property or characteristic. Common elements that are added to make Monel K500 are molybdenum, manganese, nickel, silicon, boron, chromium, and vanadium.

Monel Alloy K500 Wire

These metals are added to produce specific properties for Monel K500 that is not found in regular carbon steel. Alloy K500 Filler Wire is normally used in the annealed temper, and strength characteristics described below are representative of annealed material. Alloy K500 should be machined by the procedures, where the usual annealing temperature is approximately 1900 Degree F (1040 Degree C).

Like other nickel alloys, Alloy K500 Coil Wire should be clean before it is heated and should be heated in a low – Sulphur atmosphere. In various types of high – temperature water, Alloy K500 Welding Wire displays low corrosion rates and excellent resistance to stress – corrosion cracking.

Monel Alloy 400 Wire Manufacturers In India

Sachiya Steel International is One Of The Leading Manufacturer And Exporter Of High Quality Monel Alloy 400 Wire , which is in fact used most commonly in high temperature brazing applications. Our Monel 400 Wire is generally being used when specifications call for corrosion resistance and high – temperature service properties. This Monel 400 Coil Wire can also be used in sub – zero applications as low as the temperature of liquid oxygen, helium, or nitrogen. Nickel brazing alloys have low vapour pressure, making our Monel 400 Welding Wire suited to vacuum systems and vacuum tube applications.

Monel Alloy 400 Wire

With their joint strength and resistance to corrosion, this nickel brazing Monel 400 Electrode is ideal for jet engine parts and assemblies, food handling equipment, nuclear energy and carbide tools. Our Monel 400 Welding can only be hardened by further rolling, while showing excellent corrosion resistance, which is higher than that of pure nickel in reduced environments and better than that of copper in oxidizing environments.

This Alloy 400 Electrode is a solid solution alloy that can be hardened by the process of cold working. Our Alloy 400 Filler Wire is also known as super alloy, where series of nickel – copper alloys are grouped. The proportions of copper and nickel used to make this Alloy 400 Welding Wire are the same as that found in the nickel ore found in Ontario mines.
