The stainless steel material used for making Stainless Steel 304 electropolished pipe is well known for its mechanical properties in addition to resistance to general corrosion. Stainless steel 304 is a t300 series austenitic SS that is having 18% of chromium and 8% of nickel, in addition to the carbon of 0.08%. Therefore, it is termed as chromium-nickel austenitic material.
The Coverage of chromium to the oxygen spontaneously is causing passive oxide layer formations. This oxygen layer is known for avoiding further diffusion of oxygen and it, therefore, eliminates the danger of corrosion. Furthermore, electroplating solidifies the oxide layer. This, therefore, results in making SS 304 electro polished pipe greatly corrosion resistant. Moreover, electropolishing permits ASTM B912 to become a good to use even at the tough atmospheric conditions.
