In sulphuric acid, Hastelloy C22 Tube Fittings has shown useful resistance to concentrations of up to about 30 % at a temperature of 175 Degree F and about 10 % at boiling temperature. Laboratory tests of Hastelloy C22 Compression Fittings at 175 Degree F have produced corrosion rates at 10 % concentration.

Hastelloy C22 Ferrule Fittings has excellent resistance to phosphoric acid, which also gives rates for phosphoric acid containing 1 % of hydrofluoric acid. Hastelloy C22 Double Ferrule Fittings has good fabricability, where annealing for cold forming should be done at 1900 Degree F. Forming, machining, and welding are carried out by standard procedures for Hastelloy C22 Female Connector Fittings. The temperature range of Alloy C22 Compression Tube Fittings for heavy forming or forging is 1850 Degree F to 2200 Degree F, where light working can be done at temperatures down to 1700 Degree F.

These Stainless Steel 410 Tube Fittings was developed for enhanced creep resistance and for higher strength at temperatures above 1000 Degree F (537 Degree C). In most instances, the carbon content of Stainless Steel 410 Compression Fittings enables dual certification. These Stainless Steel 410 Female Connector Fittings cannot be hardened by heat treatment, only by cold working.

Stainless Steel 410 Ferrule Fittings can be easily welded and processed by standard shop fabrication practices. These Stainless Steel 410 Double Ferrule Fittings can be used in nitric solutions and also in most diluted organic acids at moderate temperatures. SS 410 Tube Fittings used in pure phosphoric acid at lower temperatures and up to 10 % diluted solutions at elevated temperatures. These SS 410 Compression Fittings resists polyphonic acid stress corrosion cracking in hydrocarbon service.

SS 410 Female Connector Fittings can also be utilized in chloride or fluoride free caustic solutions at moderate temperatures. These SS 410 Ferrule Fittings does not perform well in chloride solutions, even in small concentrations, or in sulphuric acid. The high Sulphur content of SS 410 Double Ferrule Fittings also has a detrimental impact on hot workability. If hot forming is required, once again, these SS 410 Compression Tube Fittings should be considered as an alternate selection.

Subdivisions for Stainless Steel 347H Compression Fittings include “through – harden able” and “carburizing” grades (plus several specialty grades such as nitriding steels).

Through – hardening Stainless Steel 347H Female Connector Fittings — which are heat treated by quenching and tempering — are used when maximum hardness and strength must extend deep within a part. Carburizing Stainless Steel 347H Ferrule Fittings are used where a tough core and relatively shallow, hard surface are needed. After a surface – hardening treatment such as carburizing (or nitriding for nitriding alloys), these Stainless Steel 347H Double Ferrule Fittings are suitable for parts that must withstand wear as well as high stresses.

With proper heat treatment, for example, tensile strength of Stainless Steel 347H Ferrule Fittings can be raised.
